2001

The 2001 Len's Friends Charity Classic, hosted by the Bayer Corporation, was held October 20th through 22nd. Len's Friends enjoyed a weekend of golf, camaraderie and socializing while staying at The Plantation on beautiful Amelia Island.

The VIP Reception and Pairings Party Gala were held at The Plantation. The VIP Golf Outing and Tournament were played at the beautiful Arnold Palmer designed Golf Club of North Hampton.

Len's Friends included golf professionals from the PGA, LPGA and Senior PGA Tour, as well as, local golf celebrities. Special guests of the VIP Golf Outing on Sunday included Keenan McCardell and Zack Weigert of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dr. Gary Wiren, Master PGA Professional entertained guest on the putting green with a demonstration of over 15 antique putters from his private collection dating back as early as the 1800's. At the conclusion of the tournament Len's Friends enjoyed awards, prizes and food at The Awards Party at North Hampton.

Len's Friends 2002 Charity Classic Banquet and Tournament Benefits The First Tee of Jacksonville

Len's Friends 2002 Charity Classic Banquet and Tournament netted approximately $58,000 for The First Tee Jacksonville. The banquet, held at The World Golf Hall of Fame on November 9, 2002, was attended by Len's Friends including young First Tee golfers from Jacksonville and St. Johns County.

Over 140 golfers enjoyed a perfect day of golf and an awards dinner for the November 18, 2002 Len's Friends Charity Classic Golf Tournament held at beautiful St. John's Golf and Country Club in St. John's County. The title sponsor for Len's Friends Charity Classic is Bayer Consumer Care.

2003 Len's Friends Charity Classic Benefits The First Tee of Jacksonville


 The 4th annual Len's Friends Foundation Charity Banquet and Golf Tournament was held October 19-20, 2003 and netted approximately $55,000 to benefit The First Tee of Jacksonville. On October 19 a full-house of Len's Friends were treated to a Casino Night and Banquet at the Sawgrass Marriott with great live and silent auction items provided by the Foundation's many sponsors and friends. October 20 was a perfect day for golf at the St. John's Golf and Country Club and over 100 golfers participated in the golf tournament. Prior to the tournament golfers participated in a putting contest and clinics given by Len and Trey Wilburn (National Long Drive Champion). Following the tournament, participants and friends were treated to a an awards dinner in the clubhouse. Len and Kristen expressed their deep appreciation to all of Len's Friends and many sponsors for their continuing generous support to Len's Friends Foundation, making the 2003 Charity Classic a winner for the kids who have and will be benefited by The First Tee programs.

2004 Len's Friends Charity Classic
Raises $90,000 for Local Jacksonville Charities

      
Len's Friends Foundation raised approximately $90,000 for The First Tee of Jacksonville, Child Cancer Fund and Otis Smith Foundation during the 2004 Charity Classic Banquet and Golf Tournament November 7-8. Over 500 tickets were sold for the Charity Classic Banquet and Casino Night, sponsored by Bayer, during the evening of November 7. Guests were treated to dinner sponsored by Carraba's Grill, playing for charity in the Casino and bidding on many outstanding silent and live auction items. On November 8, 120 golfers played in ideal golf weather at St. John's Golf and Country Club in the golf tournament sponsored by Sungard. Following the tournament an awards banquet was held in the St. John's Clubhouse with dinner sponsored by Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill. Many thanks to all sponsors, supporters and volunteers who made the 2004 event such a success for our supported charities.
